The Environmental Integrity Project (EIP) is urging states to condition tax subsidizes for the plastics industry on environmental permit compliance, after finding that the 50 plants built or expanded since 2012 have received billions of dollars in tax breaks while committing widespread permit violations that disproportionately impact Latino and Black communities.
