Environmentalists fear New Jersey’s sweeping 2019 directive requiring five major chemical companies to fund past and future cleanup costs and provide large amounts of data related to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) contamination is wavering, with the state recently indicating the issue will take years to resolve.
