Environmentalists sue EPA over final dust-lead clearance rule

Environmental and public interest groups are suing EPA over its recently finalized dust-lead clearance levels, an expected move coming after they criticized identical draft levels for being too weak and narrow. The environmentalist law firm Earthjustice, on behalf of Sierra Club and seven other public interest and environmental groups, filed suit Jan. 14 against EPA, petitioning the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit to review the agency’s final dust-lead clearance rule.
