EPA publishes tough proposal for waste combustors’ emissions

EPA Jan. 23 published its plan to tighten air emissions limits for large municipal waste combustors (MWCs) in the Federal Register , setting a deadline for public comment on the proposal, which environmentalists and community activists have long sought, but which the waste-to-energy sector and municipal governments are resisting.
