EPA reaches deal on SO2 attainment decision deadlines

EPA has reached a proposed agreement with environmentalists to take action on a series of overdue decisions relating to states’ plans for attaining federal sulfur dioxide (SO2) standards, under binding deadlines that would run from December 2024 to November 2027.
