Ford acknowledges criminal probe over emissions

Ford Motor Company is under criminal investigation by the Department of Justice (DOJ) over its internal emissions testing, according to a filing the company made to the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC). The April 25 SEC filing says DOJ “opened a criminal investigation into” a previously reported concern “involving its U.S. emissions certification process.” The issue relates to “road load estimations, including analytical modeling and coastdown testing,” which deal with measurements of the forces -- such as aerodynamic drag or...
