USDA chief floats RFS options in wake of refiner waivers

Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue has floated several policy options for addressing continuing Trump administration efforts to ameliorate mounting agriculture sector concerns over EPA’s recent decisions granting dozens of waivers to small refiners from its Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) biofuel blending mandates. Bloomberg and other outlets say Perdue and other top administration officials met with President Donald Trump Aug. 21 and Aug. 24 to consider the options.
