CPUC Tightens Utilities’ GHG Goals, But Groups Say Climate Needs More

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) is tightening aggregate greenhouse gas targets for the state’s investor-owned utilities (IOUs) and other load-serving entities (LSEs) to meet in 2030 and 2032, but environmentalists say regulators must go further to achieve broader state climate ambitions. “Today’s decision provides direction for procurement of an unprecedented amount of new clean energy resources.
