Debate Increases Over ‘Offramp’ To Delay Some EPA Vehicle Standards

Industry groups are increasingly calling for some type of a regulatory offramp that could slow implementation of EPA’s pending vehicle emissions standards if charging infrastructure or other supports are slow to arrive, even as environmentalists argue such a mechanism could hamper regulatory certainty crucial to clean vehicle investments. Groups are already raising the topic in formal comments submitted to EPA on its proposed heavy truck greenhouse gas rule, and similar concerns are expected to surface in comments due next week...
