Democrats Ask GAO To Study Climate-Driven Impacts On Waste Sites

Democratic senators are asking the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to investigate how well EPA is prepared to protect Superfund sites from the impacts of natural disasters caused by climate change -- such as strong hurricanes, flooding, wildfires and sea-level rise -- and to suggest actions to mitigate their risks. The request to GAO comes in the aftermath of three major hurricanes this year that caused significant damage in the southern United States, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands as well...
