Environmentalists Press CEQ To Require Site-Specific NEPA Reviews

Environmental groups are pressing the White House to require federal land management agencies to conduct site-specific National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) reviews rather than more-generic assessments, warning that the U.S. Forest Service in particular is “at the forefront of an unlawful trend of agencies attempting to sidestep NEPA.” The groups presented the request during a Feb. 28 meeting with the White House Office of Information & Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) to discuss the Council on Environmental Quality’s (CEQ) draft “phase 2”...
