EPA Eyes More Stringent Controls On Coal-Fired Power Plant Effluent

EPA is planning to propose a supplemental rule addressing power plant effluent limitations guidelines (ELG) in fall 2022 that could require coal-fired power plants to install new technology to better limit discharges of toxic metals and other pollutants, after concluding a Trump-era ELG could be strengthened.
