EPA Faces Competing Calls On Stringency Of ‘Legacy’ Coal Ash Rule

Environmentalists are urging EPA to quickly craft new standards for “legacy” ash disposal sites setting strict requirements for monitoring, financial assurance and disaster prevention, while industry groups are pressing the agency to first build a new rulemaking record and then tailor any rule to the specific conditions it finds.
