EPA Sets Deadlines For Reclassified Ozone Areas, Cuts ‘Contingency’ Steps

EPA is proposing deadlines for areas violating federal ozone limits that are reclassified to worsened nonattainment status, setting a default 18-month deadline for submission of revised state compliance plans and application of control measures, but eliminating some requirements including ‘contingency measures’ (CMs) tied to former attainment dates.
