FERC Backs LNG Project Despite EPA’s Concerns On Adverse EJ Impacts

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has unanimously approved a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal and pipeline in Southwest Louisiana over objections from EPA and environmentalists -- and concern from some commissioners -- that the project does not mitigate adverse impacts to nearby environmental justice (EJ) communities, including from climate change.
