Governors Urge Congressional Action To Ease EPA Ozone Standards

The nation's governors are urging Congress to revise the Clean Air Act, or EPA to take regulatory steps, to allow local governments more flexibility in complying with the agency's new eight-hour ozone standards. The governors are responding to concerns by local authorities who face the loss of federal highway funds after being recently designated as out-of-compliance with the tougher ozone standards.
