Final Highway Bill Limits EPA Tank Fund Cuts, Drops Water Financing Plan

The highway bill that Congress approved just before the July 4 recess scales back Senate-proposed cuts to EPA's Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) fund, though the House-Senate conference committee report on the highway bill will still divert $2.4 billion from the fund to help pay for roads and other transportation projects, $1.3 billion less than what the Senate had initially proposed.
