European Union Sees DTSC Green Chemistry Rules Conflicting With Trade

European Union (EU) officials are raising concerns with the toxic department's draft green chemistry regulations, appearing to side with industry officials in arguing requirements for product manufacturers are burdensome and complex and it is unclear how companies outside the United States should cope with the rules. The controversy over the draft rules also appears to have spilled over to recent World Trade Organization (WTO) meetings, with disputes emerging over whether the state rules conflict with the "technical barriers to trade"...
