EPA nears listing 1-BP as hazardous air pollutant

EPA has sent for White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) review a final rule listing the industrial solvent 1-bromopropane (1-BP) as a hazardous air pollutant (HAP) under the Clean Air Act, as the agency strives to meet a self-imposed Dec. 31 deadline to complete the first-time listing that will trigger tougher controls on industry.
