Utilities, Environmentalists Split On Perchlorate As Proposal Deadline Nears

As EPA nears a court-ordered deadline to propose drinking water standards for perchlorate, environmentalists and water utilities are split on the necessity of the rule after a landmark 2023 court ruling that EPA lacked authority to reverse a prior decision to regulate the ion.
