Democrats in the House and Senate are proposing companion bills that would amend TSCA to ban the manufacture, import, and sale of all firefighting foam that contains per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), arguing that other countries have already found safer substitutes for the chemicals and the only barrier to a domestic switch is “red tape.” Rep.
