Countries Elevate Efficiency Alongside HFC Cuts Under Montreal Protocol

Members of a global treaty to phase down climate- and ozone-damaging chemicals, including hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), are elevating the issue of energy efficiency gains alongside the push to sharply phase down HFCs, opening the door to developing countries receiving funds under the treaty next year to boost appliance efficiency.
