DOE Denies Industry Petition To Craft Single Furnace Efficiency Metric

The Department of Energy (DOE) is denying appliance manufacturers’ long-pending petition for officials to combine three existing performance metrics for different aspects of warm-air furnaces into a single standard, a move department officials said would have caused unlawful “backsliding” for its energy efficiency requirements.
