EIP Wins Cancellation Of ‘Zombie’ Permits For Four Large GHG Projects

The Environmental Integrity Project (EIP) has persuaded several states to cancel what it calls “zombie” construction permits for four large new greenhouse gas-emitting petrochemical projects, part of the group’s ongoing push to force the loss of a permit when holders fail to “commence construction” within Clean Air Act timeframes. The environmental group recently expanded its inventory of petrochemical projects to include information about their permit status and whether construction is under way.
