Environmentalists have failed in their effort to strip language from EPA’s fiscal year 2022 spending bill that requires EPA and other agencies to develop policies that “reflect the carbon benefits of forest bioenergy and recognize biomass as a renewable energy source,” despite claims that the rider fails to require adequate review of any climate risks.
