Ethanol Group Urges IRS To Approve Alternative GHG Accounting For SAF

An ethanol group is pressing the IRS to allow use of an “alternative” method to estimate ethanol’s lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions, warning that “increasingly byzantine and infeasible” international requirements will otherwise bar tax credits for ethanol that is needed to ensure sufficient supply of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
