The U.S. Forest Service is proposing a rule that would facilitate “perpetual” carbon dioxide storage in underground pore space below the surface of National Forest System (NFS) lands, arguing the plan would boost deployment of carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects that can help mitigate climate change.
