CARB Eases Proposed ZEV Rules In Response To Automaker Concerns

In response to automaker requests, California air board officials plan to ease their proposed landmark zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) sales mandate for model years 2026-35 in part by allowing more banked credits to be used for future compliance, relaxing a battery-durability standard, and allowing more credits for fuel-cell vehicles sold in California to satisfy requirements in other states that adopt the rules.
